Political Predictions for Bihar's NDA

Patna: On Wednesday, Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party, took on the role of a political strategist, forecasting a likely defeat for the ruling NDA in Bihar. He attributed this prediction to the coalition's failure to finalize candidates and seat allocations.

In a recent interview, Kishor expressed skepticism about the JD(U)'s prospects, suggesting they might struggle to secure even "25 seats" in the 243-member assembly. He indicated that the outlook for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party has only worsened.

"The NDA is certainly on its way out, and Nitish Kumar will not be returning as chief minister," Kishor stated, drawing from his past experiences working with Kumar, both as a poll analyst and briefly as a party member.

Kishor recalled the previous assembly elections, noting how Chirag Paswan's revolt just before the elections led to a significant drop in JD(U)'s seat count, which fell to 43.

He further highlighted the "complete chaos" within the NDA, pointing out the uncertainty surrounding which seats the BJP would contest and where the JD(U) intends to field its candidates.

Kishor also commented on the INDIA bloc, mentioning ongoing disputes between the RJD and Congress, and raised questions about the current status of Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insaan Party within the coalition.
